哦,这样啊,那找到工作之后一段时间就可以移民了是吗?
Immigration is a very complicated issue. You should do your research or consult professional service. I can give you some brief info. I am just talking about international students in general here. During your study in US, you are on F1 visa. F1 gives you legal presence but not work authorization. If you want to work off campus, you need to apply for CPT or OPT. Everything is regulated here so don't try to evade laws otherwise you will get deported. Once you graduate, you need sponsorship from an employer to help you apply for h1b visa which grants you legal status to work here. You have a grace period of 1-2 years(OPT) to find a sponsor. If u can't find one at the end of the period, you will get deported. Not many companies are willing to sponsor h1b visa, not to mention green card. Usually after you work for a company for a few years and earn their recognition, they may consider to sponsor your green card. There are some shortcuts to green card, you can get it very quick through marriage or if you are a refugee or have qualified family members. Or if you have a phd and find employment with an university, it' much easier to apply for h1b visa and green card because there is no cap on the number of visas granted to higher education institutions. For private sectors, the competition is fierce and they just started to do a lottery system. The whole thing is very complicated. |
