我认为C答案是有一定道理的。虽然题目中说到Inflation可以忽略，但我们知道通货膨胀是由很多商品价格的整体波动情况，因此如果生活必需品的价格涨得很厉害，而其他商品反而便宜了，对于收入不怎么高的老人来说，反而是经济上比以前更差了。。。E答案总觉得有点牵强。。。第一次发帖，请大家指教。

我也是之前选的C。 但是在看完解释后对这个题又分析了一下，题中用了nevertheless，它要表述的意思就是前面所说的都是个前提，就是在满足这些条件下，老人们仍然生活质量没有提高。而E所说的是子女只会供养老人到comfortable living, 即 老人的收入= pension+ 子女supplement，这两项是个此消彼长的关系，其总水平是不变的。既然这样，那老人们的收入必然不变，生活水平也不变了、、、、 （PS， 我也被绕了好久。。）
