1.      Have well written personal statements or essays. Most applications will require one or more essaysthat may ask you to elaborate on why you want to pursue an MBA or what youmight contribute to that school’s cohort or community. Be thoughtful in your answers and make sure thatthe writing is clear, logical, and well-organized.

If possible, let a little of your personalitycome through in your writing. For example, if you are writing about anexperience such as studying abroad, open up somewhat about how that experiencemay have changed you personally and how you will use that experience to be opento learning new things and meeting new people.

You may also be asked to writeabout a specific task or challenge that you have faced. Make sure that youranswers are specific and give the admissions committee enough context toevaluate your actions. Again, make sure that the writing is clear, logical, andwell-organized.

个人陈述最好能写的规范而且带有自己的角度和趣味。

2.     More writing tips:

If your answer requires you toshow specific knowledge about that school’s program, make sure that you put your response in your ownwords and don’t just copy from the school’s website.

Lastly, make sure that you have run your spell and grammarchecks through whatever software package you are using. Read theapplication again after the check to make sure there are no words that can havedifferent spellings or meanings that would have made it through the check butaren’t what you intended (i.e. there and their). Don’t let an otherwise stellarapplication be marred by a lack of attention to detail.

在个人陈述或者essay中需要表现出对学校的足够了解程度。但不能复制黏贴学校的介绍，需要消化，结合自己的事实写。语法，拼写错误要不得！

3.     Visit the school if you have anopportunity. Having first hand knowledge of aschool can enhance your personal statements and essays. You’ll have abetter sense of how you will fit into the student body, how you will benefitfrom various class offerings and teaching methodologies, and etc. Mostimportantly, you will most likely interact with members of the admissionscommittee who will hopefully remember you as they review your application.

实地考察学校是最好了。可以帮助你写申请文章。

4.    Attend recruiting fairs or virtualsessions and speak to admissions representatives , alumni, or current students. Again, the more interaction that you havewith a school before applying, the more you can showcase that experience inyour application. Many schools will have alumni in attendance in cities theyare visiting and you can have an opportunity to ask them about their experienceas a student.

5.      Prepare for your interview but be able toanswer and ask questions “on the fly”. If offered an opportunity to interview,be sure to review your personal statements and essays as the interviewer will undoubtedlyask you follow up questions. You should again be prepared to highlight yourknowledge of the school; whether through view books, the website, orinteractions with staff, faculty, students, and alumni. You should be able to speak comfortably and notappear to have written a script in advance.
