Junior biomedical researchers have long assumed that their hirings and promotions depend significantly on the amount of their published work. People responsible for making hiring and promotion decisions in the biomedical research field, however, are influenced much more by the overall impact that a candidate's scientific publications have on his or her field than by the number of those publications.

The information above, if accurate, argues most strongly against which of the following claims?

Juniorbiomedical researchers have long assumed that their hirings and promotionsdepend significantly on the amount of their published work.  People responsible for making hiring andpromotion decisions in the biomedical research field, however, are influencedmuch more by the overall impact that a candidate's scientific publications haveon his or her field than by the number of those publications.
Theinformation above, if accurate, argues most strongly against which of thefollowing claims?
A.Even biomedical researchers who are just beginning their careers are expectedalready to have published articles of major significance to the field.
B.Contributions to the field of biomedical research are generally considered tobe significant only if the work is published.
C.The potential scientific importance of not-yet-published work is sometimestaken into account in decisions regarding the hiring or promotion of biomedicalresearchers.
D.People responsible for hiring or promoting biomedical researchers canreasonably be expected to make a fair assessment of the overall impact of acandidate's publications on his or her field.
E.Biomedical researchers can substantially increase their chances of promotion byfragmenting their research findings so that they are published in severaljournals instead of one.

菜鸟也应该在相关领域发布过有影响力的论文 (agree, otherwise a newbie would not stand a chance of getting hired.)
B.Contributions to the field of biomedical research are generally considered tobe significant only if the work is published.
C.The potential scientific importance of not-yet-published work is sometimestaken into account in decisions regarding the hiring or promotion of biomedicalresearchers. (I don't see the connection here between published work and not-yet-published work...)

Thanks for your reply. I agree with most of your analysis except the fourth choice. The meaning of the choice should be "有时未发表的但是有潜在的科学重要性的文章也会被作为是否是否雇佣的考虑中去。"

If you don't mind, can we become studying friend so we can discuss some topics sometimes?
