1:31: [301] Obama's plan of making universities become more and more affordable would not work. Because if the government spends too much on universities while the tax income does not increase, the government will run out of money soon.
1:56: [333]The tuition becomes higher and higher these years. Universities are using more and more grants from government to construct luxury facilities, such as gyms, dining halls, dormitories.
1:46: [376] Universities endowments are good shelter of tax, and their officers enjoy high compensation. Universities use the money from the government
to do a lot of things other than researching and teaching. Obama's plan has been criticized because of the high rate of drop-out. But the plan indeed helped many people who are from low income families to go to universities.
1:50 [357]: Today more and more students can afford to go to universities due to the financial aid provided by government. However, it contributes little for the quality of graduates. It is easy to get a high GPA, but the knowledge that students have learnt is limited. We have much more College graduates than we need.
It is the same as labor bubble. Therefore, Obama's proposal does not work on the fundamental issue: how much a student learnt from university?
1:44 [379]: Obama wants to help students discharge their debts by loosening the requirement of repayment of tuition fee . However his plan tends to make them become less worried about paying back their debts. It could raise a moral problem. The fact is that, compared with college students one decade ago, today's students do not learn more, but the cost increased.
Maybe developing and establishing more online courses would be a good idea to solve this issue.
