174. Every generation of people is different in important ways. How is your generation different from your parents' generation? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer.
As time goes by, our generation has grown up and the differences between our generation and my parents' generation have become so evident, especially in the way we live, attitude towards foreign culture and preference to use new and updated technology.
First of all, in spite of the fact that we get along with our parents every day, I still find that we are not the same as our parents in the ways of living. For example, I am fond of buying things on the Internet, especially buying the clothes. On the contrary, my parents believe that clothes should be tried many times before we can decide to buy it. Also, they think there is no need to buy new clothes if your old ones are still able to wear, as long as they look neatly and what did matter is your quality and spiritual outlook. However, our generation always likes to try new things to catch up the fashion, though it is a little money costly.
Second, in the shocks of foreign culture, our generation prefers to try the commodities or brands from foreign countries due to our curiosity and we can accept them easily and try to combine them with our own culture. But our parents may think that it is just comedic to do that since people can only be in one style. For example, Jay Chou, a famous singer from Taiwan, is seemed as the super star among our generation. We are crazy for his music, his movie and his whole person, whereas most of our parents don't like him and even are annoyed when they hear Jay's songs. That's because in Jay's music, he try to mix up Chinese style and Rap or something, which feels so strange and unreasonable to our parents.
Third, our parents usually hate to use the updated technological products while young people of our generation are always the pioneers to use technology, such as 3D movies, IMAX, artificial mobile phones, etc. Take me and my parents as an example. I'm a fan of Apple and like to use IPhone because I love the excellent sliding experience their screens give me as well as the mode in which they operate. But my parents still think that the new technology brings too much to our lives and our lives can be easier. Hence, their mobile phones are in the old style, made by Nokia many years ago, which can simply support the call and massage.
In the nut shell, our generations are greatly distinguished to our parents' generation. They hold conserved attitude to hold the traditions, though I love our culture. Our generation is more flexible and open to this world in living way, new technological products and the cultural communication between countries. |
