Memo
The start of the passage is the legal history of women, tracing core events over past two hundred years. The history provides the authors their foundation. Following the history is two key themes explored. Part 1 goes with how law work as a barrier against women and part 2 explains how women transform the law according to their needs.
The women history of law is a relatively new area to explore. It is still in progress, to be honest. Though it is changing and altering, the research shares a common foundation. The conventional story in law tells of women’s linear progress from oppression under the law to equal opportunity in modern times.
The popular version of women’s history is often expressed as first wave and second wave feminism. The first wave spans the 75 years when demands for suffrage were prominent, beginning with declaration of sentiments from Elizabeth in 1848 to women’s right to vote in 1920. Second wave refers to the liberation movement of 1960s and often symbolized by Gloria and Betty. The feminism in 1960s was composed of a more complex and diverse set of political, social and cultural challenges to a patriarchal order than could be adequately represented by either Gloria or Betty. Despite major history focus on white, middle-class women who is somehow previlege. Yet, race and class shapes gender inequalities as well as hinders cross-race and class alliances among women to appreciate the complexities of women’s activism and legal situations over time.

1.        (1’26’’) The previous files involved feminism is just appearance stuff, but not concerned with much complicated but important as well incidents. This book will give readers a comprehensive and broad understanding of the derivative and development of the history of feminism.
2.        (1’16’’) The so-called protection law of women is actually a limitation of the female power. Yet the researchers find out there are some struggles of women to get rid of the constraint.
3.        (1’12’’) The general ideology is not suitable for all women, perhaps it only suits the women without engaging in any labor forces.
4.        (1’23’’) The first step of the development of feminism is isolating the property ownership from women’s husbands. Yet the second step, women’s legal suffrage, encounters a lot barriers.
5.        (1’27’’) The proposal of women’s right to vote is welcomed by an organization that advocates women’s purity and important role in handling the emerging problems brought by immigration and urbanization. In 1920, the second step finally succeeded.
Obstacle:
(5’17’’) In the beginning of the article, the author gives a vivid delineation of the winning, a balance of warm feminine to comfort the white and decent masculine ironically due to his black appearance, of President Obama. Then from this perspective, the author compares three women who all have political achievement, wondering who has the greatest opportunity to be the president. The author lists multiple and various directions to analyze HC, MO and SP. The author also doubts that if the crowd supports a female President, will it has the same standard to evaluate the male president as to the female one?
