MKT PhD去industry的话都有哪些选择呢？

一般还是去nielson这样的公司多，大部分marketing的 phd没有去做 consulting那两下子，而且有几个能再top10读phd的，去大consulting firm，就看你再哪里读书，phd根本不招人待见。

请问你所说的top10的phd去大consulting的数据是从何而来？就我所知，所谓的大consulting进入门槛并不高。另外，phd不招人待见的结论又从何论据而得出？

不要别人说出的观点跟你的想法不符合就让人家找论据支持

世界没有你想象的那么好，ib和consulting firm从来都是只认学校牌子，至于你读啥他们并不关心，只要不是mba，在他们眼里都没那么重要，我所谓的不受待见是phd远没有mba受欢迎。

consulting的确是不错的选择，而且很多consulting是需要phd背景的，倒不是需要专业知识，而是看重phd的training。具体薪水多少不清楚，不过进去肯定是从entry level做起，而且听说工作非常辛苦。

quant是多好的专业啊，算是bschool里相对好place和薪水比较高的了。

一般来说，对于非top学校的博士生，去业界也是一个不错的选择。尤其是读了很多年以后发现不喜欢教职，quit的成本太大。

对于top学校的学生，完成学位却不教研对自己和对学校都是很大的损失。所以如果还没有开始或刚开始读博，那么quit然后去实习更适合这样的选择。

agreed. A phd is not necessary for consulting.

Let me put it this way: most phds are not smarter than common people-- It takes special characteristics (such as resistence to self doubts, endurance, persistance, indepedence) to complete a doctoral degree. Unfortunately those talents are not fully appreciated in many industry positions.

But in general industry always welcomes energetic and smart people who communicates well and possess some charistma. Some doctoral students do have these qualifications. It is just a question on what motivates you to be a better self.
