(更新Poly官方回复的邮件)深度纠结求选校FordhamMSGF和Poly-NYU MFE

本来两个月前就定了Fordham  MSGF了，直到Poly把屌丝从备胎转正。。。  于是又陷入了深深的纠结当中

Fordham 在manhattan，GF的课程，相对偏文，选了1.5年的track。时间比较宽裕，可能会有充足的时间来发展自己的soft skills，群里面讨论的比较欢乐，个人感觉  同学不错。。。。机票都已经买了  ORZ 不过幸亏两个都是在NYC哈

Poly-NYU在布鲁克林，1  金工阿！2又听说14年就正式并入NYU了啊！楼主比较重的名校情结，回国的话可以唬唬人？  也是1.5年  劣势：1 。不知道本屌纯金融背景能不能hold住各种编程算法。。。2.屌丝又需要苦逼了？3.之前还看到过貌似这个merger还需要什么NY市议会通过神马的，万一出个什么差没过  不是就把我坑了？

至于有的童靴说取决于讲来干什么，个人感觉金工cover的范围大于金融，有筒子不同意的轻拍哈~.
个人定位回国。两个项目都在NYC，所以，地理位置上没怎么差。投票什么的就算了，真心求各位建议阿，赶着签证呐。。。。。

今天poly回邮件了，如下

这个 不是说好了degree嘛，怎么变成certificate了，degree和certificate有本质区别吧？ email address is yet resolved................................
唉。。。感觉这 arbitrage full of [size=14.399999618530273px]risk，便宜不是那么好逮滴

我有个背景不错的同学，拒了MSGF，去RPI的FERA，定位也是回国
个人也觉得回国的话学个MFE不错，而且就像楼主说的，NYU-POLY回来可以唬人= =即便到你毕业还没正式并入NYU，至少比F家好唬一些。。。哈哈哈

传言说到14年1月以后毕业得时候发的是NYU的证  但是不知道消息是否确凿。。。 内心先小颤抖一下~

Hi there, and thanks for your question! My first suggestion would be to carefully consider your ideal career path and ultimate goals for the future. Global Finance is basically a pure finance program, whereas the program at Poly is actually focused onfinancial engineering. These are two very different paths in the financial world, both of which lead to different outcomes. If you want to become a quantitative professional in the future, NYU-Poly is definitely the way to go. It has the one of the best locations and strongest reputationsin the industry, with the full support of NYU’s career services program behind you. However, if you want to work in corporate finance in the future, I’d suggest going to Fordham. Their program is more focused on this area, and it also has a great location for a future career in corporate finance. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hi there. I’m happy to answer your follow-up question! In the financial job market, you can divide all work into three major categories: corporate finance, capital market, and financial services. The capital market basically consists of banks, asset management companies, and trading firms. Financial engineering students are most likely to work in this area. The financial service industry includes companies like Bloomberg or PWC, which provide third party services to the capital market. The final category is corporate finance. In this area, you will work for large corporations like Apple or GE, managing the cash flow, creating finance plans, and providing investment advice. The goals are very different for the three unique categories. For corporations, finance is a supportive department that makes sure there is sufficient cash flow for the company’s operation.
