The subject of the first part of the sentence "Turning away....northern Sweden" is Selma Lagerlöf, thus the subject should follow immediately after the comma...

我觉得A中：
Selma Lagerlöf was the novelist who became the first woman and was also the first Swedish writer to win...
人们关心的focus是she became the first woman and first...，而不是她是个novelist，focus应该尽可能放在主句里，而不能放在从句，否则至少算一个awkward的表述。在这点上D比A好。

但是其它的又确实又有其它更为严重的错误, 也许这就是选相对好的吧.
