Choice D is the best answer, Choices B and C awkwardly place at once between confronted and its direct object, changes.
上面红色部分说的明确, 这种谓语和直接宾语之间插入一个时间状语是awkward的. 这题的D犯了忌讳.
但是其它的又确实又有其它更为严重的错误, 也许这就是选相对好的吧.
