Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Successful people try new things and take risks rather than only doing what they know how to do well.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

With regard to economical boost and abundant opportunities in life,nowadays, the issue of what makes a successfulperson has been heatedly discussed. Some people maintain that successful people try newthings and take risks. Some other peoplecontend that successful people only do what they do well. Despite different people hold different perspectives, I, given thischance, prefer to assert that successfulpeople try new things and take risks. My point of view, on the whole, involves fundamental and deep discussionsas follows.

Tobegin with, trying new things encourages people to step out oftheir comfort zone and to embrace new challenges. Itis time adapted ourselves to the rapidly changing society. Gradually we become more open-mindedand competitive, which contribute to the success in business orlife. To give you anidea of how this point functions, take Amazon as an example. It is acknowledgedthat Amazon is an online shopping platform with millions of goodstraded everyday throughout the world. We can say that Amazon is doing reallywell in selling cheap stuff such as books, electronics and etc. This remarkablesuccess did not stop the big company to move forward，instead they stepped out and took on a newchallenge by running the "Cloud-Platform" business. Hard as it may see at first, without try younever know what you can get. Amazon established itself in competitivecloud-platform market and became the leading player in this field. Apparently, the spirit of taking risk enables Amazonto become more successful.

Another equally essential argument thatdeserves people’s attention isthat failure is a valuable treasure. Most people who resisttaking risks are afraid of failure. There is no denyingthat one can always learn from his/her failures, which leadto the success in the long term. For exampleyou will make a presentation in front of your class tomorrow. Onebrilliant idea strikes you that you want to adopt itso as to increase the interaction with the audience. Nevertheless, you are not sure whether you will makeit. Even you fail to meet the goal by applying thismethod, you can still enjoy the great benefitof audiences' feedbacks. You will know how to deliver a good speech, how tokeep the balance between the speech and interaction with audiences andwhat's your own strength that you can fully utilize while makinga speech. Surprisingly enough, your publicspeaking skills will be significantly enhanced later and you will become amaster in this area. Never be afraid of trying new things andlearn from the past experience. Sooner or later you will find successis just around the corner.

Admittedly only doing what you do well ensuresyour success under some circumstances. Regarding the long term success tryingnew things and taking risks are a better choice.Consequently, after the advantages and disadvantages of taking risksare carefully examined, I prefer persist my perspective.

From what havebeen discussed above, although some people may still remain unconvinced, thefactors I have analyzed would make them more aware of the dimensions of thisissue under discussions. There will be little doubt that more and more peoplewill realize that trying new things and taking risks make a person moresuccessful.
