Nov2012 in NY [size=12.666666984558105px]It went pretty smooth, very casual. Actually I kinda feel it's too casual and I'm hoping I didn't relax too much... I'll try to remember all the questions We met at starbucks. I dressed suit but my she dressed casual. She said she read my resume and it makes very much sense why I want to do MBA. She even checked my company's website. [size=12.666666984558105px]1. walk through resume-- here I only talked abt my work-- a few questiosn here, back n forth [size=12.666666984558105px]2. questions about family business, how it works [size=12.666666984558105px]3. then jumped directly to end of resume, asked that I've traveled to 30 states, what's the weirdest state-- talked about my road trip to states in midwest, yellowstone [size=12.666666984558105px]4. why mba, why now-- when she talked, it's more like that I have some points and she agreed, saying she had similar experience, instead of asking questions [size=12.666666984558105px]5. backup plan. She took notes here [size=12.666666984558105px]6. adversity-- she said I have to ask a hard questions cuz CBS asked me to. I laughed saying that I thought it's "ethical dilemma" question. She laughed too, and said she thought "ethical dilemma" is too hard n she didn't have a good story when she had her interview. So I talked about my challenge in college. [size=12.666666984558105px]7. where do you want to live when go to school... talked about places around the campus [size=12.666666984558105px]8. questions for me- she knows I did a lot research on [size=12.666666984558105px]Columbia[size=12.666666984558105px] so she took the conversation, clarified CBS is not a finance school, their activities with partners (I mentioned my hubby( etc., and I didn't even get a chance to ask questions.....
[size=12.666666984558105px]30-40 min. The interviewer is very very nice! She filled my feedback right after the interview even before I sent the thank you note. [size=12.666666984558105px]My interviewer didn't say anything about whether she will recommend or not... She also said it took a few weeks for her to receive admission notice after her interview-- so it might take a long time.
Early Action RD, self-initiated
[size=12.666666984558105px]Tuck's interview is even more casual. It was conducted by a 2nd yr student who is really nice, and besides the standard questions, he asked very personal questions-- I talked abt my hometown in China. PS he kept writing abt many things I said, so we closed it after 40 min when he has no space to write on front or back of My resume... Overall, very nice experience in Tuck, except that it was snowing when I traveled there so it took the bus 10hr to arrive Dartmouth...
Kellogg on campus, self-initiated Nov2012 R1
这个之前竟然没有写……with admission officer, very nice and patient, tried to write down most of my answers.
Haas on campus, Nov 2012 R1
[size=12.666666984558105px]After interviewing with a few schools, I feel all the interview questions they have are similar... [size=12.666666984558105px]I was interviewed by a 2nd yr student. I heard some are interviewed by committee members as well. I don't know her background before the interview. I heard Haas used to pair ppl who have similar background for interview. But it was not in my case. There are only 2 waiting for interview that afternoon, much fewer than [size=12.666666984558105px]Kellogg[size=12.666666984558105px]/Tuck.
[size=12.666666984558105px]She has a list of questions, and then randomly picked up a few to ask me, including walk through resume, why mba/now/Haas, leadership experience. he only unique questions she asked is, if you can do anything, regardless of money/time etc., what will you do. I talked about my work in community cuz I didn't cover much of it in previous questions. I didn't create any unique answers for this tho. It was not a big surprise cuz I read others' interview experience online, and some were asked with similar questions.
