附上原文，感觉杨老师解释的更加合理，只是这四个平行为什么没有and呢？begin的主语是who wanted an authority吗？应该是第四个平行分成了两个句子所以和前面的三个平行用分号隔开，以免ambiguity。

之前我也没看明白begin的主语是谁，还觉得奇怪为什么是复数形式。才发现who前面是分号；，那么后面是独立成句，又要跟前面平行，省略了who wanted。所以begin只能是nonstarters对应的who的谓语了。
