In my opinion, in twenty years, there willbe fewer cars in use than there are today. Although due to the rapid economicgrowth today, more and more people have the ability to purchase cars and carshave indeed bring us a lot of convenience, I still think that within twentyyears, the number of the cars will definitely be declined.

First of all, I think in the next twentyyears, the price of the petrol will go up a lot, making it quite expensive forpeople to drive cars. As we all know, petrol are unrenewable natural sources,and the more we use it, the faster it will be used up. As more and more peopleare using cars, the requirement of petrol must be increasing at a surprisingspeed. In the meantime, the total amount of the petrol will not increasebecause of people's growing need. As a result, the price of the petrol willrise. In this way, it will cost the drivers quite a lot to purchase oil. Sotwenty years later, even if they have enough money to buy a car, they may havegreat difficulties to provide their cars with petrol which is extremelyexpensive.

Furthermore, I think within the comingtwenty years, the public transportation system will be largely enhanced andpeople are able to get wherever they want by buses or subways. Nowadays many countriesare fond of the construction of a better public transportation system, and ithas gradually become a standard of a modern country. Under such circumstances,people will find it easier to get to their destinations by using public vehiclessuch as buses and subways, and meanwhile the problem of traffic jams will berelieved a lot. In this way, I think in twenty years, people will prefer publictransportation to private cars.

Last but not least, as people are gettingbetter education, their consciousness of environmental protection will be improved quite a lot. Gradually theywill be aware of the pollutions cars make by emitting harmful gases. Afterknowing this, they will try to avoid using cars as much as possible.

In conclusion, because of the reasonsmentioned above, within twenty years, there will be fewer cars in use thanthere are today.
