我本来选了D，但是正确答案是A。但是关于OG上D的解释，我怎么想都想不懂。
OG解释： D This backward description of the events behind the announcement of factory closing is confusing and awkward.

从语义上A&D有差别
A是说因为芯片太多了价格下跌（这是一个整体的事件）----》制造商决定减少生产时间（即减少产量）
而
D
with是由comma分割的修饰成分可以去掉
那么制造商决定减少生产的原因就是：芯片太多
语义上是不同的。
我总觉得with the result 很奇怪，不知道原因？求解释。帮顶！

首先，当出现because, because of, due to 的时候，because 要优于because of 和due to。这是一个一般规律。这样直接就排除了B,D,E.剩下A和C，明显的主动是优于被动的。在A和C都没有语法硬伤错的时候，优选A。

due to=caused by,由于其有形容词词性，所以在GMAT中不用于句首~当然楼上有几位说的逻辑错误也是对的~ 但是due to本身肯定错，这一点毋庸置疑~

due to表示“因为。。。，所以。。。”，其中“所以”这里是结果，之后又用了with the result，又表示结果，所以才会很奇怪~

我查了一下，due to 现在普遍可以放在句首，请问GMAT中有相关的明确说明不能放在句首么？

PREP破解都是这样说的，due to 不在句首（包括分句）

‘because of’ modifies the action in preceding clause, indicating why the meeting was canceled.

The cancellation of parent-teacher meeting was due to heavy rains. – CORRECT
‘Due to’ modifies the noun – cancellation.

The cancellation of parent-teacher meeting was caused by heavy rains.- CORRECT
Note how when “due to” is replaced with “caused by”, the sentence makes complete sense.
