读来读去,还是觉得E对.

首先,根据文章最后一句  At the conflict’s center was the issue of whether tailors’ female relatives should be identified as family members protected by the tailors’ guild or as individuals under the jurisdiction of the seamstresses' guild.  可以看出,被tailors雇佣的seamstresses享受哪种政策待遇尚在争论之中,说不定最后的结果就是"这些seamstresses享受的政策待遇,与seamstresses' guild中的成员享受一样的待遇." 因此D站不住脚.

至于E,我这么理解:
文中说了The seamstresses, however, viewed guild membership as a mark of independence from the patriarchal family. 
意思是"对于seamstresses而言, 成为协会成员标志着从patriarchal family里独立出来".
也就是说,不加入协会,就不标志着从patriarchal family里独立出来. 可是, 没有标志性事件的发生, 不代表那些seamstresses没有那种想法. 正因为如此, 第18题才问infer.

回楼上的问题: "(没参加协会的人)view guild membership as a mark of independence" 与 "(没参加协会的人)fell their status as working women gave them a certain degree of independence" 不矛盾.

31行提到tailor在行会中的情况，随后however写到seamstresses认为行会成员是as a mark of independence from the patriarchal family，seamstresses的行会不是由家庭单位组成，而是由享有unusual legal and economic privilieges的妇女个体组成。

问到如果seamstresses被作为tailor成员的亲戚雇用会如何？就是不能享有unusual legal and economic privilieges啦 选C

E怎么可能对呢。既然是在tailor下的家庭单位工作，怎么会有独立性?
