Do you agreeor disagree with the following statement: Your job has more effect on yourhappiness than your social life does.

In a world of perpetual changes andadvancements, people tend to care more about the quality of their spiritual life.Therefore, happiness is becoming one of the key words in our time. It is widelyaccepted that the job act more effective in one’s way of achieving happinessthan their daily social life. There are some people, however, who take thenegative attitude. From my perspective, I entirely agree with the idea that thejob plays a vital role in determining one’s happiness for the reason that our job are linked most closely toour daily life and it could bring us joyousness both in spiritual and materialways.
Initially, there is no doubt that spiritualenjoyment is the basis of happiness no matter how people define their ownstandard. The benefits of enjoying social life are difficult to deny while it’sobvious that humans are born with the natural desire to lead a better life. Asa result, we tend to participate in social conventions like parties or concertfor the purpose of relieving ourselves after a day’s hard work as well aspreparing for a good mood for our future life. However, these social activitiescannot act as the leading part of our life, that is, even though it may soundappealing to us, what we have to face for most of the time is our profession.That’s why I maintain that our jobs could affect our sense of happiness to agreater extent.
In one hand, what job could bring us is thematerial foundation of our daily life while it serves an important role in determiningwhether we could enjoy a carefree life or not. Through a satisfying job, we could spare valuable and quality time withthe people we loved and cherished without concerning the issue that we mayfaced with financial problem as well as poor economic condition. In addition,more opportunities and choices could be offered in one’s daily life whenobtaining a well-paid work, for instance, when after a period of hardwork, you could either choose to travel around the world and get shocked by variouscultures or just spend some valuable time with friends playing golf, whateveryou like as long as they can make you relax and joyful.
Inthe other hand, having a job which is regarded as perfect and satisfactory canset a delightful ambience for everyday life in a spiritual way. Since we haveto face our work from day to day, whether it’s truly fits for us or notdirectly affect our mood. What’s more, having a bunch of workmates that couldcommunicate or cooperate well can give us the motivation and inspiration in ourwork, in this way we could not only improve ourselves in a rapid way but alsomake progress in our own career. As a consequence, happiness can be found andachieved easily in almost every moment.
All things considered, although our sociallife do have certain effect over happiness, but obviously we should consideringthese effect in a comprehensive way. Since our work takes up most of our day andits overall influence to our life, I firmly believed that the job plays a moreimportant role in affectingour happiness than social life does to some extent.
