我认为应该是D. 楼上既然已经承认是在比较institutions, 那就更没有歧义了. AS MANY institutions CHARGE...AS (institutions) CHARGE......; 这里当比较的主语一致时, 可以省略后面相同的比较的主语...under 8000 和 over 16000 并没有造成歧义对比的可能, 他们都是后置的修饰成分(我们所看到的大多数是防在被修饰词之前), 核心对比词是nstitutions..

不知道理解对不对

但是，我还有一点疑问，对于187题，AS后面只省略了一个成分，所以比较关系是清楚的。而GWD的D选项，省略了主语和宾语，是否会有对比上的歧义呢？E选项至少没有歧义啊。请同志们赐教。

这道题烤的似乎是准关系代词的概念：

According to a 1996 survey by the National Association of College an University Business Officers, more than three times as many independent institutions of higher education charge tuition and fees of under $8,000 a year as those charging over $16,000

语法上是institution 之间的比较，逻辑上比较的是学校的数量。所以E选项是对的

OG例题：According to a study by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, companies in the United States are providing job training and general education for nearly eight million people, about as many （people） as (those who) are enrolled inthe nation’s four-year colleges and universities.

语法上比较的是人，逻辑上比较的是数量。这两道题是一样的题型，不同的是gwd-24使用分词修饰，og使用定语从句修饰。所以形式容易让人出错。

偶认为选E，无歧异。 D省略主语的前提是比较对象主语相同，本题不是，所以不对。

对于狗狗前辈援引OG187，我想说og的例子是比较对象主语相同的情况下，所以A，与GWD的这道题不同
