Stay Thirsty, My Unfair Friends
They say that all’s fair in love and war.((谚)为了爱情和战争一切都是合理的(在某些极端情况下可以不择手段)) But when it comes to making a deal, people have very definite ideas about what’s fair: a recent study found that people will let a basic physiological need go unfulfilled rather than accept an unfair transaction.

Researchers induced either moderate or severe thirst in volunteers. Then pairs of thirsty subjects were asked to split a bottle of water.

Unbeknownst to the participants, the experiment was arranged so that everyone thought they’d be receiving less water than their opponent was getting. And a majority of the participants—even the very thirsty ones—rejected the apparently unfair offer. Meaning that neither they nor their partner got to take a drink.

The research is in the journal Scientific Reports. [Nicholas D. Wright et al, Human responses to unfairness with primary rewards and their biological limits]

Past research has shown that humans will also reject unfair offers in games played for money. This study was the first to show that people react in the same way when bargaining for a necessity. Nobody ever said life was fair—but we still want it to be.

4.Why You Choose the Brands You Do
http://www.scientificamerican.com/podcast/episode.cfm?id=why-you-choose-the-brands-you-do-12-08-26
第一遍:People tend to choose brand in the middle of the shelf
第二遍:
P1-Other factors may influence people's choice of certain brands-the brand you picked was located in the middle
P2-Researchers tracked eye movement and found that Reseaches have shown that people tend to choose brand in the middle of the entire shelf, specifically 5 seconds before they make their choice. And they do this for all kinds of products.(这么关键的研究结果....听到了都木有identifiy出来....)even if the product is not located in the middle of the vision(Also, it is not in reference to one's eye, it is literally about the product being central within the entire shelf layout.)--being用法怎么感觉是错的...只能说不是under GMAC地盘吧...
P3-People may not even realize that they have picked products just because the items are placed in the middle of the shelf.
