Issue： 社会应该加强对年轻人的合作意识培养而不是竞争意识：



The opinion held on this topic is society should  instill the young people with  sense of cooperation but not competition in order to let them to be good leaders in the future. Although it really make sense in some aspects, for cooperation is an important quality for leaders, it can be kind of loss for young people do not be taught to be competitive.
  The suggestion made in the topic is kind of correct, since cooperation is very important in not only usual lives but business, goverment and other fields. Cooperation is a skill between people to be kind and helpful to each other, and it can inspire benefits from a whole which are more than each individual has. For example cooperation can focus lots of energies, money and many other aspects of benefits, and in a word cooperation can make things easier to do. Especially in some emergencies, cooperation can help to save people's lives, such as catastrophes like earthquake.
  However, the benefits of cooperation do not make the idea in the topic such reasonable, and there are still some disadvantages if the society do so. On the one hand, it may not be realistic fot the society to instill only sense of cooperation but not competition to the young people. The diversity of messages and informations makes it difficult to prevented sense of competition from those young people,  such as television, computer, and even daily life. We can not deny that life is full of competitions, from children's social expriences to wars between countries. How can young people do not have sense of that? In their ages, their developments in emotion and intelligence are faster than any people, which means they are sensitive to what happened around them. So it is not realistic for society to do such an impossible work.
  Even if the society can do so, it may not have a good results. We have discussed the importance of cooperation above, but how about the importance of competition
? Can any one deny that? I suppose the answer must be no. Competition  is also a necessary sense of leaders, for it can bring us the hope to improve ourselves and excess others. For a leader, no matter in government , industry or other fields, the responsibilities of him or her may not be only cooperate with others, but more important, can compete with others and get good results, have your country or company get good benefits and big profits. If you can not compete over others, you will lose your people,  the land and  money, even lives of people. Many good leaders in this society know how to led their group to improve, for example, Steven Jobs, who was the leader of Apple, made the whole world crazy about their products. And so does Bill Gates, the leader of Microsoft.
  In this society, the abilities leaders should have are not only cooperations, but also competition, and leaders should have good control of them too. You must have a good balance of both senses, so that you can lead your government, industry or others to a bright future. And our society should have a balance of both to inspire our young people. And believe that, they will give us a big surprise!

Argument：来看Super Screen 电影的人少了，但是对电影好评价却多了。因此这不是电影的问题而是观众品味的问题。所以应该加强广告方面的投入。


  The director of the Super Screen Movie Production Company thought that they should pay money to advertisement in order to let their customers have good sense of movies' quality. Because that the number of people who attended the movies is decrease however of positive reviews of movies is increasing. However, there are some questions need to be asked in order to make this argument reasonable.
  The first one is that, whether there is a good reason to negatively connect the decrease of number of customers and the increase of positive reviews. In other words, fewer attended  people must mean fewer positive reviews? There may be some possibilities that the lost customers of Super Screen Movie are not really big funs of movie, they may not attend movies because many small reasons, however, people who still attended the movie are really big funs, and they have watched hundreds of movies and they have good sense of movies' quality. As a result of that, their reviews are the most realistic reflections of the quality.
 Another question should be ask: are there any reasons why people less attend the movies? Perhaps the financial situation last year is really disappointed and many people do not get equal salaries as they used to,.What's more, may the price of the movie increase, and many normal customers do not want to pay the extra money so that they choose to pay less money to borrow videos home and share the pleasure with their families and friends.That will be a good choice , right? So if those situations are true, even if the Super Screen Movie pay more money to advertisement, customers will still not increase.
  The third question should not be missed, that is even if the company allocates a greater share of its budget next year to reaching the public through advertising, will the number of customers increase absolutely?  erhaps the problem is not the awareness of good quality, but some other qualities of the company. For example, the equipments in the Super Screen Movie are really old and the customers prefer the new, fascinating equipments in other companies. And may be the attitude of this company made the customers uncomfortable, may be they are arrogance to audiences and do not care their needs. So people have a bad memory of Super Screen-produced movies, so they choose not to attend.
  There are many questions can add in order to make this memo more reasonable, for example, may the advertises have such more influences in customers? Or the quality of advertise is really high so that it really can bring more audience to the movies. With those questions, this argument will be far more thoughtful and reasonable.

Colleges and universities should require all faculty to spend time working outside the academic world in profession relevant to the courses they teach.


I could wholeheartedly embrace the suggestion to teachers that they should work outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach. This is for the good of the following three aspects: 1) Make their classes more impressive and effective; 2) Stimulate the students to better prepare for their job markets; 3) Make the teacher's research work more related to practical applicance.appliance. However, I think the suggestion is a little broad, it maybe not be suitable for some special subjects, like the pure theory like mathematical theory in which professors have to deduce their models and formulas, formulas or the physics theory, where the professors have to stay in lab to continue the experiment of discovering the particles they have predicted.


Generally speaking, the requirement that teacher should spend time working in the related profession will improve the quality of our education and research in school, for the following three reasons.


Firstly, the teachers who have attended the practice out of academic world become refreshed and are more active to add new materials and cases into their classes. Experience of combining the theories with the practical appliance in industrial field will allow the teacher to realize the shortcoming and limitation of the theories. Thus in class the teachers will inspire the students to think what is the limitation of a formula or a classic conclusion. The students, who have been bored with the pages of theoretical deduction, could be activated and will participate in the discussions. In this sense, the class of the teachers would be more impressive, active and effective.


Secondly, the goal of our college education is to prepare our students qualified for the job market where the competition is quite fierce. But common sense tell me that most of the technical courses the students acquired in class are already out of dated and the industrial field have already adopted new and skills that the students could not know in class. When in a job interview asked about their skills, students usually feel at loss and they think the courses they take at school are just a waste of time. Teachers, who have attended the professions in industrial field, could guide the students to learn the up-dated skills they will need in the near future.


Thirdly, working in the profession out of academic for a period of time could inspire the teachers of new research topics which are more related to the industrial appliance. It often annoys the teachers that they could not find very proper and valuable research topic that is both of their research interest and also valuable to practical appliance. The reason lies in that the teachers are always buried on their teaching and research work thus spend little time going out to see what on earth is needed in industrial field. Such requirement will definitely solve this problem and make the researches of teaching stuff more relevant to the practical usage.




However, the suggestion is a little broad, for some special subjects, like the pure theory of math and physics, or other very spiritual subjects like philosophy and history. In these cases, there is no suitable profession for them to serve and the work of the teachers is usually very pioneering and innovative. And their significance does not lie in the current practical usage, but in the great breakthrough and a discovery that would potentially lead a new era in his field. Math and physics teachers should be encouraged to continue their theory innovation or their experiments in the lab to discovery a predicted particle. Philosophy is also a special subject that the teachers should spend time researching into the thesis and the claims of their predecessors and peers and brought up new and valuable ones combining the reality. But there is no suitable field that a philosopher could work on beside the academic field. So in this sense, the school should allow more space for the teachers of these subjects.


Last but not least, to improve the quality of education, the school could take other measures also. For example in China
, universities frequently recommend their students to do intern work in cooperating companies, or they are encouraged to do part-time job that they are interested in. After all, such measures could influence the students more directly than the suggestion the author mentioned.



In conclusion, the author brings up a good suggestion and will benefit both the students and the teachers. But to carry out the suggestion, special attention should be paid to the teachers of special subjects like pure theory math and physics, and the spiritual philosophy, schools should allow them more space to continue their innovative and pioneering work.
