答案是B 我选了D 我觉得D中

1。translating 动词优于名词  

2。但是until completion又觉得怪怪的

有人可以讲解一下 为何B优于D吗？

  1，work  指  translation of the Iliad  ，在形式上也满足对称－名词形式，我觉得也是必要的。正是因为 translating 是 动词而不选.

2，take  (sb) some time to do

显然不可能是D,E, Iliad是荷马史诗,D,E使a work只能修饰 Iliad,

感谢cefs的总结. 但是对于为什么不用过去完成时似乎还是不能有力解释.

今天又仔细看了一下句子, 觉得是不是因为这个took出现在定语从句里面, 所以和主句动词就没有那么严密的联系了? 比如改成: This book had taken me five years to complete before I began to translate it. 似乎就要用完成时了, 但是这个说法没有什么根据, 不知道大家看法?
