The University of Chicago MBA taking questions

Hi Actor, could you list the questions here? If you were talking about questions like "have you worked or lived abroad?" or "what's your community involvement?" (we had those last year) I gave pretty detailed answers to them because I happened to have something to say on these topics, which might help the adcom know me better as an applicant.

For example, to the question "have you worked or lived abroad?", my answer was:

So far I have no working or studying experience outside of China.

In the past 5.5 years, however, I have been immersed in a cross-cultural working environment at two international PR agencies, using English as the working language.

- My current co-workers in Shanghai office are from seven different countries, for example, our General Manager is French, my supervisor is American with Germin origin, and two of my subordinates are respectively Canadian-Indonesian and Malaysian.

- Most of my clients are multinationals, headquartered in Europe, America and other Asia-Pacific countries. To serve them I work closely with colleagues around the world in my company's global network.

Outside of work, I also actively participate in cultural events and socializing occasions, to learn more about exotic arts and communicate with foreigners who stay in China.

Through these experiences I am able to understand and appreciate the diversified values and behaviors of people from different cultural backgrounds, so as to facilitate our communication and gain a broader perspective.

To gain more cultural insights, I am looking forward to studying at the Chicago GSB and mingling with faculty and fellow students from all over the world. I believe the Chicago GSB's emphasis on an international outlook will help its students to adapt to a multi-cultural environment that future workplaces are bound to be.

Personally I don't think the answers to such questions are as important as the essays, but it would be good if you can provide some interesting facts about yourself and ideas to complement to what you say in the essays.

Ah...I don't know actually...hehe...can you please check on the admission website? I remember it's a new hire from Wharton, but I could be wrong. Last year our second question was an elevator speech with the Dean, but I didn't mention the Dean's name at all (cuz I didn't know and didn't bother to look up, which was bad.

Thank WWWZZZ so much. I got a little confidence after finishing GMAT, but now when filling out all the other required pieces of application package, the 'little' fades away. Hope all of you can achieve. Sure, I'll also try my best.
