据我的申请经历, 个别学校(去年duke)要求在申请时申请人就提供财力证明. 这只是个别学校对国际学生的一项要求.这一要求本身是不十分严格的, 和申请visa时的财力证明要求并不相同. 如果财力不太充分的话:
1) 可以开三个月的存款证明;
2) 如果有企业同意给你担保的话, 请该企业写一封资助信明确资助的金额, 你在填写时写明是企业赞助.
放心: 这个证明和你是否拿到奖学金无任何关系; 也和你的visa申请无必然联系. 只是个别学校有手续上的一道要求. 具体的情况登录个校的网站查询.

我想申请马里兰，要求申请的过程中就提供财力statement.

于是请问第二个方法怎么操作？可以用亲戚的工厂出资助信嘛？打印盖章还是怎样？

会不会反映到I-20表上去？实际上我并不想用亲戚的钱，可以有别的方法弄到钱，但是在申请deadline逼近的情况下，只能用权宜之计。但是如果反映到表上去，不是会影响签证嘛？从没见过I－20表是什么样子。

希望高人解答。。。。。。

但是不是说，如果证明不了第一年的全部学费生活费，联邦政府可能不会给你发visa么？

I want to know more details, too. as following showed:

"All international applicants are required to submit evidence of financial resources along with the application for admission. The School of Business will be unable to finalize admission and issue visa documentation until evidence of financial support for the duration of your program is provided. All signatures must be officially witnessed and/or notarized."

Does it mean that I  must summit the financial statement when I apply?  In the form of International Applicant Financial Statement it gives the estimated student expenses 07~08,  $42,648.  How much personal savings should I have at least? =42,648*8=RMB 350,000? Quite a sum of money!
