1.As people rely more and more on technology to solve problems, the ability of humans to think for themselves will surely deteriorate.




The statements actually includes tow claims: one is that people are more and more depending on technology; and the other is that the humans' thinking ability will surely deteriorate based on the former claim. While I agree with the former claim since the advancing technology is very useful in our daily life, I oppose the later claim since whether humans' thinking ability will deteriorate should be determined by how people use the technology.


It is true that the advancing technology is so useful in our modern life that people are more and more depending on it. For example, with the development of the internet, people are more and more habituated to use the internet to search information to slove some problems that they don't know. For example, I once surfed online to find information concerning how to set up the arcGIS, an software used necessarily in doing my homework. When it comes to AI program, which tends to be highly specialized for a specific task, can make medical diagnoses as well as, or better than, most human doctors.

However, it will be assertive to make a conclusion that the decrease of humans' thinking ability will be the certain outcome based on the fact that people's more and more relying on the technology. Actually, humans' thinking ability should be determined by how to use the technology: if people use the technology just like a machine without thinking, the thinking ability may be deteriorated; however, on the contrary, if people always think creatively when they use the technology, things may be different and the using of technology may be beneficial for thinking ability.


For instance, in order to finish an thesis, if I search some similar thesis of the same topic and I copy some of them without thinking, at this situation, the internet for me is nothing good for my thinking ability but just finish the assignment; however, for the same goal, if I search some relevant information about the thesis, and thinking about what I want to point out and how to use the information as a valuable accessory material, the internet at this condition is helpful for my thinking ability. In fact, humans' thinking ability will enhance if people carefully observe and make a deliberate thinking in the progress of using technology.


In conclusion, it is a fact that people are more and more depending on technology, however, the fact does necessarily lead to humans' thinking ability's decreasing as the statement asserted.
