IE IMBA SWOT - Personal view

IE IMBA,
So many talented peers are looking for European MBA programs, and I just want to introduce briefly from my personal view about IE IMBA program.

Strength,
1. Sustainable top 10 - 15 position on global ranking. (Questioning ranking result is questioning the foundation of MBA reputation system)
2. Entrepreneurship oriented education.
3. Experienced faculty in VC and entrepreneurship.
4. Short program, cost in time and finance is relatively low.

Weakness,
1. IE alumni network in China is smaller than those of other global top MBA programs.
2. IE IMBA Global ranking is questioned occasionally due to unique faculty base. ( Not from HBS, not from famous B-schools. the quality of faculty is often questioned )
3. Entrepreneurship education is questioned occasionally by potential applicants. (Can entrepreneurship be taught, I think so, but not that every smart people agrees)
4. Qualification-focused in-take procedure makes the seriosity of enrollment questionable to potential applicants. ( GMAT score is not must)
5. No career development program.

Opportunity, to MBA graduates,
1. Innovative business plan and entrepreneurial thinking.
2. Small but therefore close alumni network in China. ( The smaller the Alumni is, the denser the interaction is)

Threat, to MBA graduates,
1. May fail to start personal undertaking.
2. May fail to find superior job because of entrepreurial education.

Strength & Opportunity,  based on my personal profile,
1, I have 10 years WE and am at managerial position. I have rich resources in my industry and beyond. I need innovatiivity & solid business plan.
2, I decide to start my own business later alone or with current friends or with IE alumni.
3, I need fundings, and I need to learn about funding in IE.
4, Program is short so I can save a lot of time and money.
5, I don't need career development program.

Weakness & Threat,  based on my personal profile,
1, I may not be able to start my undertaking immediately after graduation, and then I need to find a job to survive the leading period, which can last over 3-5 years until I sell my business plan.
2, Over 1 Mil CNY opportunity cost.

In short, IE IMBA is a unique program for special applicants or for normal applicants looking for unique program. I define unique here as being confident enough to overcome all disputes and formulate a solid program for only the applicants who see benefits.

All the above are 100% personal points of view.

基本赞同，ie适合有胆识的，有想法的人去申请，尤其它目前在中国的知名度。

但今年持中国护照的申请人不少，而且整体WE都很强，加油。

IE 您可以看近几年的国际排名, 从Harvard往下找, 不难找的.

1 Mil CNY, 去读FT MBA的都要准备这点吧, 学费 + 生活费 + 收入损失. 好好读书回来上班也能挣回一部分的.

1 Mil CNY, 去读FT MBA的都要准备这点吧, 学费 + 生活费 + 收入损失. 好好读书回来上班也能挣回一部分的.

学费近50万，生活费10万左右，一年不工作保守的损失40万。
