西班牙MBA介绍（ESADE vs. IESE）以及申请欧洲MBA常见误区

LZ，弱弱地问一个问题。对比本科毕业生，申请这两所学校的难度如何？我在各个地方看到的说法众说纷纭，希望LZ帮忙解答一下~

我想提一下case competition的好處, case competition其實是對找工作相當有助益的競賽, 尤其是許多公司是直接透過case competition找人才, 例如J&J和Novartis, Adidas, 有的獎品是直接給實習, 有些是直接給全職面試機會, 直接就跳過第一關.

另外就是case competition並不是每間學校都可以參加, 公司會指定可以參加的學校. J&J的case competition只給ESADE, INSEAD, LBS三間參加, 獲剩的人可以拿到J&J一年一度在美國的全職面試會的機會, 要報名實習者也會拿到實習面試. Novartis的競賽是ESADE, IESE, INSEAD, LBS, IE五間歐洲學校參加, 前三名的人可以拿到Novartis Spain CEO的推薦信. Adidas的競賽, 因為我沒參加, 並不是很清楚, 但是知道這一屆冠軍是ESADE. Adidas直接就給獲勝的日本同學與南非同學在德國的實習.

給想來念MBA的朋友一個建議, case competition也可當作找工作的一個管道, 別忽略了這個好處.

感谢Bimbo同学的回复，话说case competition这方面，ESADE确实很强，等过了这周，我会再写一片详细的介绍。而且Adidas的case competition，另外一个墨西哥的同学也拿到intern了，虽然他们组不是冠军。

请问你说的是刚刚本科毕业，没有任何工作经验吗？还是说有了几年工作经验，但是是本科学历？

其实如果你是刚刚本科毕业，或者只有1，2年工作经验的话，申请这两所MBA都会有一定的challenge，因为MBA很大程度上是需要你对之前的从事行业有一定的in-depth的理解，基本上一个国际准则是“3年工作经验”才是qualified professional。我们也有个别同学是2年工作经验的，比如我上social entrepreneurship的组员。但是她在工作之前的经历和global experience就很突出。

ESADE有一个好处就是我们的MSc program也很出名，但是申请MSc只需要1到2年的工作经验。所以我觉得你如果是急于念硕士的话，不妨尝试申请ESADE MSc。如果你准备工作3年之后才申请MBA，那就先确定自己的毕业去向，然后再在两所学校中选择:-)

It depends on how you negotiate your salaries. It's not necessary the same for everyone.

Sometimes it is not just money. It is to do soemthing you are passionate about.

I aslo agree the comments on doing a top 10 MBA, otherwise, doing a MBA can be a real waste of money and time.

I agree with you that applicants should be absolutely clear about what they are really passionate about!  However, it is kind of a challenge for you to answer the following questions if you are following your passion and  top 10 criteria at the same time:

1. What if a ranking 15th school has the best post-MBA placement in the industry/function you are really into, are you going to apply or not?  
   
2. What if a school obtains a 9th position this year and dropped out of top 10 next year, as we all know a school's ranking can fluctuate quite a bit, or even aggressively?
   
3. What if your school earns a 5th position on Business Week and 15th on Financial Times?

這個問題很實際! 關於申請難度的問題, 簡單來說, 亞洲學生的機會相對歐美同學來說高很多! 原因很簡單, 歐洲MBA(LBS/Insead除外)在亞洲知名度不如美國MBA(儘管這兩間學校的FT/Economist global ranking超越很多美國名校), 為了開拓這塊市場, 只要是profile還不錯的亞洲學生(由其實來自中國/香港/台灣/新加坡會講中文的), 只要個性不要太怪, 面試表現不要太差, 拿到admission的機會很大! 甚至很高比例的學生可以拿到獎學金!

但是這不代表同學素質會比較差。基本上學校招收的各國學生(diversity)程度都很高, 不管是工作經驗還是學歷都有一定水準, 這點可以從團隊合作與大家找intern找Full-Time就可以深刻體會!

My opinion is only relevant to myself in this case.

I am not fussy, so top 15 is good for me, just joke.

What I meant top 10 here does have some tolerance range.  It is not like I will not to go to a top 11 just because it is 11.

Questions 1 &2 are answered now.

Question 3, I am old enough to form my own opinion. I read financial times, therefore, I will go for financial times ranking.

Glad to know you are capable of forming your own opinion.  Focusing on one ranking will save you a lot of time choosing the school:-)
