Show下花了2个小时,写的处女作,悲哀。江郎才尽了。 题目: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Children should choose the same career as their parents. Use specific examples to support your answer.
Before we answer the question whether the children should follow their fathers’ footprints to pursue their careers, let’s check out what does the word “career” means. A career is not the job what you do just now, a career is a long term interest what your want to do. In the old days, because of the poor economic condition and bad environment, it is frequent that the people often confuse the difference between job and career. In that circumstance, the children often choose the same job (or career) as their parents, so even today we can find the tailoring family, carpenter family and medical family. However, in the modern life these phenomenon have become rare, and I indeed believe that the younger people can choose their jobs based on their interest and skill freely. Restricted by the worse economic and lack of the well security, the ancient persons have a very narrow list of opportunities to choose their job which are suitable to their appetites. When my grandfather was eighteen years old, he only had two choices: one was to stay at home to be a hardworking farmer and then married a woman who shared the same background, just as his father did. The other was to join the army and then grow up to be a soldier. Even though his real desire was to be a teacher which needs a further education, he had to choose to join the army in that his parents could not afford his tuition. So it was popular for the generation of my grandfather to pursue a career followed their parents. And it is normal that the ancient skills and conventions are handed down from generation to generation within the families. Thanks to the advancement of economics and technology, the level of work specification is becoming more and more dedicated. In the society, we can choose varieties of jobs independently which is rested on our interest. Most of fathers are more enlightened, and they don’t force their sons to engage in the career what they do. It is not rare to see that the parents and their sons often put their heads together to work out a solution instead of just lay down an order that the sons should follow. If you ever saw the famous movies ‘Kung Fu Panda’, you will definitely move a further step to support my idea. In the movies, PO(the leading character “panda” ) has a dream that he hope one day he will become a master like “The Dragon Warrior”, but unfortunately he is not born in a Kung Fu family. His father (a duck) is just a cook, and he wants his son to take over his career---to become a famous chief. But PO does not care about his father’s suggestion. Instead he tries hard to attend the “WU LIN ADIMISSION MEETING”, and finally his persistence moves the WUGUI master. At the end of the movie, PO successfully defeats the enemy “TAI LUNG” and save the whole village. I believe that a person will benefit more when he or she chooses a career that conforms to his or her interest. To sum up, just as the sayings go “if there is a will, there is a way” and “just follow your own course, let other talks”, obviously, we should choose our careers which match with our interests and skills well |
