现在完成时强调的过去一直到现在，但不表示对将来有任何暗示，所以，but no longer do so就很容易理解了，因为将来的状况可能发生变化。

不知道大家有没有真正意识到这道题的实际考点是简洁原则:因为划线部分不是句子主体,所以that they肯定是ETS为了与考点匹配编出的错项,而E明显是语法错误,所以只有A是唯一正选.当然,总结as to用法也可以,但不需要抠ETS人为编出来的错项细节

在GMAT里，现在完成时表示过去大段时间 for instance: in the last decades

或者一个从过去一直延续到现在的状态，但对将来没有预表。所以og解释”but no longer do so“。这句句子强调的是一个一直发生的状态，而不是强调这个状态的完成。
