请教一个简单的句子分析

唉，怎么也看不明白，俺的语法啊。。。。。

The primary propose of the passage is to

present the results of new research suggesting that previous findings concerning one set of conditions may not be generalizable to another set of conditions.

其中的suggesting 在句子中间是什么东东啊

那么是省略了定语从句的that？ 如果加上就应该是这样？

that previous ...又作为宾语从句，是suggesting的宾语？

suggesting前可看成省略了(that is ),that指代research.

previous findings....set conditions.是 suggest的宾语从句.

不是啦,虽然偶现在正在复习tofel,但是我认为这个句子其实挺好理解的啊.那个就是research后边有suggest有一个动词分词引导的一个从句来修饰research了啊.你可以理解为research that is suggesting ... ...对吧,但是为了句子结构比较工整,所以就省略了that is 这样子就不是定语从句了,但是你可以理解为是就想动词分词做形容词修饰其他词一样就可以了,这样子比较容易理解啊.

我倒是觉得suggesting是修饰the results的。。。

因为在the results of new research这个名词词组里，results才是核心词！！而且从逻辑意思上看，也是“新研究的结果” 而非“新研究”suggest后面that从句里的那个情况更合适一些~~~

宾：the results

定语从句：suggesting that....做为一个大的分词引导的定语从句修饰成分修饰宾语the results
