LZ不明白为什么D错了呀，"besides”后面的内容不就是facts嘛？而且A提出“the mark……”不就是an alternative creterion么？

besides之后所谓的"facts"，但不是用来support an alternative creterion的，仅仅是对背景的一种叙述
事实上，A是在第二句就直接提出了自己的alternative creterion，用an alternative creterion来dispute C：“是不是great writer和有没有understanding根本无关”

LZ对于besides后面内容的理解是dispute "because she was ahead of her time in understanding that industrialization was taking an unconscionable toll on the family structure of the working class. " 这个论据的，所以不是把(widely understood...)理解为BG.


不过你说的也是点醒了我，我好像想多了，是不是如果besides后面的内容如果作为反驳前者的论据的话前面应该有更清楚的逻辑标识，但这里没有，所以可能只能看成是作顺带说的BG了……
