9.     Determining the authenticity of purported pre-Columbian artifacts is never easy. Since the item is feather, it's unlikely to exhibit scratch patterns caused by earthquakes.  Since it's black, it would be difficult to see the darkening in surface color.

可是，multi-colored sash是多色的，这样就可以出darkening color了。

所以条件二适用，我晕！我也栽在这上面了。

我也选e，我想正由于多色，所以就不能体现暗色调了，理解错了darkening color的意思了，这里的意思是说灰土掩盖了颜色。
