An NSF funded project have several research assistant (RA) positions open for Ph.D. students who are interested in computational protein structure modeling in the Department of Computer Science at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia, USA. The research objective of this project is to predict high resolution protein structures with accuracy and reliability currently not achievable in computational protein modeling.
Desired Qualifications: -- Background in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Computational Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computational Science is desired; -- Interest in Computational Biology Problems; -- Strong Programming Skills in C++/Python/Perl; -- Experience in parallel programming and GPU programming is a plus.
