Is this about the difference between "the proportion of + N" and "a proportion of + N"? like the difference between "the number of + N" and "a number of + N"?

Q19,不可能选C, 因为,选c,句子就没有谓语. C 中缺 are.

我选了 A.  我觉得which 就近指代 women work, 没有什么问题.

个人还是倾向选A，虽然A中which指代women不是特别妥当，但是C中的，many of them in既不是独立主格结构，又没有连词与前面相连，不知在句中充当什么成份，似乎较A更加不妥。

tai6996的解释有问题，首先a中用的就是 in 和work，并没有使用with 和 works。另外，我认为whom不加也未尝不可啊。本来我选择的是C，但是后来向一个老米印证，他给的答案是A，理由是他们习惯这么用。我当时差点晕过去 能帮我找到充分的理由驳斥 A 吧。

个人认为不能选A，many of which 引导定语从句，从语法上修饰an overwhelming proportion of women work 中的women, 这个women是所有的妇女，而从逻辑意思上来看，句子是要表达从事工作的妇女；再者，也应该用whom而不是which.

many of them in...是 名词+介词的独立主格结构，放在句尾表伴随状态。选c没问题

想问一个问题。。我当时排除C的原因是因为C要跟句子。但这里是一个状语。。以后碰到这个事情怎么判断AS的用法。。。。？？？？？
