I have been admitted by NYU part-time (best part-time program in US).
My company is likely to pay all the tuition. I wonder whether it is
worthwhile applying top full-time programs such as HBS and Wharton. The
forgone cost will be roughly 90K salary x 2 + tuition and housing
expense(100k)=280k, isn't it a lot money?

I want to here more on this topic.

I am also at the cross road of choosing part-time or full time. My 760 GMAT will pretty much garrantee an offer from the part-time program at U of Maryland. Should I try to apply for top 10? I have been working in the same company for the past 6 years as an software engineer. Just like the previous post, the cost of going full time seems unbearable. I am about 35, have a lovely son. Any suggestions?

In my personal view, it might depend on whether you want to go back to your current industry.  If you are planning on changing career, then it does make sense to go for a full time program, it definitely gives you more networking opportunities.  If you are seeking advancement within your current organization, obviously part time will serve the purpose just fine.  As far as money is concerned, a better school is more important, at least for me.

Do we have a option like part-time work and full-time MBA?

There is a potential opportunity for me to work in NYC.  I guess the pay may be between $60000 to $70000.  Although I have worked in the same industry for 8+ years and do not find this kind of work interesting any more, if I can get the job offer and H1B visa, I think I'd rather do part-time MBA for prudence sake.  If I were you, I would do the part-time MBA considering the high costs of full-time MBA.

You can look into volunteer projects where you will find more opportunities to take on leadership positions.  Good luck!
