sunny,你最近怎么样,论文定下来了吗?其实真的是很苦,我从上周末到现在就没有碰过G了,我实在是没有时间.这周3门考试,每门都很多内容,其中一个还是essay考试.8个题目,我就不停的写,基本没有时间想.明天最后一门了,考完,这个周末有点时间看G.下下周又是3门考试.你知道我这学期选了几门课?6门! 10/28号前我都会很忙,这以后会好点,有1,2门课可以结束掉,然后花多点时间在G上面.

其实G是一个能力考试,虽然我不能一直复习它,但是我对G考试已经有了个概念了,接下来要做的是提高我的能力.平时的复习考试也是提高能力的方法,所以并不影响G的复习,特别是不会影响阅读. SC和数学对我来说特别要提高的.我的语法特别弱,以前在国内读书时也是,其他英语科目都可以考好,就是英语语法,我考很差的.数学不谈了,高中以后就没碰过了,我们专业是不学高等数学的,倒是学了一大堆没有用的东西,什么马列啦,哲学啦,昏倒!

加油吧, 我看书偷空来看看的,嘻嘻,要继续啃去了.

看着你的努力我觉得很惭愧，相比较，我的课不是很多，就是自己看书，选题目写essays.我这几天是根本没有看GMAT.论文题目已经定下来了，也写了proposal, 本周到10月上旬就是写literature review。

我本身英语的基础就很差，自己还不努力。我以前的基础是学中医的，所以数学就更差了，现在学卫生管理，往上学，我不想学卫生经济和卫生策略分析，想学在卫生结构中或者更广的公共系统中管理改革和机构变革。

看了你的复习计划大受启发啊，自己也就可以小偷懒一下了。 谢谢你的鼓励和你给12月队员带来的奋斗气氛！

今天刚复习了 require 的用法, 贴上来供你参考:

一般有3种用法:

1. require sb. to do sth

2. require that + 宾语从句 ( 从句要用虚拟语气: should do/be, 但在GMAT中, 'should' 必须省略)

3. require of sb. that + 宾语从句 ( 同上, 从句要用虚拟语气: should do/be, 但在GMAT中, 'should' 必须省略)

·         A( that employers should retain all older workers) 中should是不需要加的。GMAT里面虚拟语气好像没有发现加should的。

·         B(that all older workers be retained by employers)解决了should问题，但是没有必要地把主动语态变成了被动态。GMAT考试好像不喜欢在用主动语态情况下用被动的，我目前没有发现。

·         本题另外考的就是require的用法。109和67已经考过。好像ETS挺喜require这个字的。

o        -require sb. to do sthg.

o        -require that

o        -require sthg. of sb.

§         当sthg.是从句（一般是that从句），形式改为require of sb. that ----

§         被动形式：sthg. be required of sb. （常跟to do 表目的）

whitesand，谢谢你。最后一个用法是require sthg. of sb的变体。当sthg.太长时，就变成了require of sb. that---,还有一个变体就是被动形式：sthg. be required of sb.

the conclusin above would be more properly drawn if it were made clear that the:
A truck's speed is assumed to be lower that the car's
B truck's speed is assumed to be the same as the car's
C truck's speed is assumed to be higher than the car's

who know why the answer is B. and I donot understand what they mean, could you please translate into chinese. I am in libraly, so I have to write in English. Thank you

A compelling optical illusion called the illusion of velocity and size makes objects appear to be moving more slowly the larger the objects are. （这句是省略句，回过来是：A compelling optical illusion called the illusion of velocity and size makes objects appear to be moving more slowly, the larger the objects, the more slowly moving the objects are appeared to be.)Therefore, a motorist's estimate of the time available for crossing a highway with a small car approaching is bound to be lower  than that it would be with a large truck approaching.
题干：一种强制性的视觉误差叫做速度和大小产生的误差：越大的物体看上去越慢。

结论：因此当一个驾车人在估计能穿过高速的时间时，对开过来的小车的时间估计应该低于对大车的时间估计。（这就是说，其实大车的速度比人能看到感到的要快，但是由于人的视觉误差和物体大小有关，所以小车看上去会快，所以对小车估计的时间会比对大车估计的时间少。除非小车和大车是同一速度的，否则是无法比较时间的，因为我们无法比较他们的速度了）

A. truck's speed is assumed to be lower than the car's （同样的速度条件下，我们才能比较误差，如果不是同一个参数级别，不能得出结论）

B.truck's speed is assumed to be the same as the car's (在卡车和小车原来速度相同的情况下，我们才能比较视觉差的问题，如果他们速度本来就不一样，有快慢，题目的结论就无法成立，我们不知道小车原来就比卡车快，还是反之，这样自然影响判断他们的能穿过高速的时间）

C.truck's speed is assumed to be higher than the car's （理由同上）

D.mostoris's estimate of time available is assumed to be more accurate with cars approaching than with trucks approaching （本题说的是视觉对速度的判断误差和物体大小有关，视觉误差是一直存在的，不存在哪个更精确的问题。比如：你对物体的速度产生的视觉误差是固定的，不因为你看见一辆大车，你的视觉误差率大，而小车就误差率小）

E.motorist's estimate of time available is assumed to be more accurate with trucks approaching than with cars approaching （理由同上）

做这题的时候其实我没有思考那么细致，特别是题目的句子很凹口。但是题目的大概意思在读了一遍以后应该可以猜到的。类似于这样的比较必须有一个恒量，然后看两个变量的比较。如果没有一个参数是恒定的，那么结论是不可知。
