If not B, what else can you pick?

Because the experiment does not satisfy the condition given in B (the unless clause), therefore, to accord to the principle stated in B, M declined this assignment.

B的措词是让STUDENT放弃实验的最佳选则:

原文没说是IMMEDIATELY,而IMMEDIATELY又在UNLESS之后,也就是说,
不是IMMEDIATELY(原文),我就不能做这个实验.

C: 不知道是不是future animal suffering is thereby prevented,并不能说那个学生就会放弃,这和B中的措词有区别.

我的思路:

原因:1) Mary is a veterinary student

        2)She has assigned an experiment that would cause the dog lost consciousness or death.

conclusion: She decides not to do this assignment.

因为原文在叙述时只是说该实验能导致小狗死亡或失去知觉,并没说该实验对拯救别的动物和人类健康没有利,故我觉得B不对.
