今天被个刚来的89年的小姑娘鄙视了，好心do人家个favor提醒了个错误，换来一通教育，什么be efficient rather than argue blablabla
气得老娘真想骂娘啊，现在的孩纸肿么都这样牛逼哄哄的啊，你自己犯错影响整个进度还来教育我be efficient~

表达不正确、不合理。the only one of the five nations，the only one后面接复数名词，才是正确
用法
B. The Oneida为集合名词，谓语应为复数were；alone of的问题，类似上述A选项的the only one。
C.    正确，alone在该句中作副词，强调the Oneida的唯一性。
D. Only与ones前后单复数不一致。

我现在看题目语义和逻辑大于语法啊，大概说下吧，不知道这解释是哪里来的哈，我觉得说The Oneida是不是为集合名词不重要啊，一般来说强调整体用单数，强调集合中的个体用复数这咱们都知道。我觉得这题吧，问题是这样的：

(A) was the only one of the five-nation Iroquois League who sided
这说的是O是唯一一个五国I联盟，这个联盟在美国革命时期跟殖民者站在一边
这句子有歧义啊，因为who显然有修饰问题，这里修饰的是IL,这就导致了who后面是在说IL而不是O
这样就造成了前半部分很奇怪的意思，就是说是唯一一个五国联盟（这啥意思？），然后这句话的主句就完了，显然句子中心变了，而且也不是原句想表达的意思
其实这句从语法上看来我觉得一点错误都没有
(B) was alone of the five-nation Iroquois League when they sided
这句的意思是O是一个单独的，或者是独自的在五国联盟外的国家，这个联盟在美国革命时期跟殖民者站在一边
显然原句不是这个意思，而且啥叫独自在五国联盟外的国家？？
语法上看，was alone of 没有这种用法，when指代有问题，没有时间性的先行词啊，they又指代谁？？
(C) alone among the five nations of the Iroquois League sided
这个意思是O是独自在这联盟五国外的一个和殖民者站在一起
(D) were the only ones out of the five nations of the Iroquois League in siding
我咋看这个were the only ones咋奇怪，都ones了还only呢？
而且句子意思是在五国联盟外的国家(或者就是说the ones),而这个联盟是和殖民者站在一边的
(E) only of the five-nation Iroquois League had sided
had sided时态错误，有美国革命这个具体时间，不能用had sided，用了的话就表示在美国革命之前了


综上，C貌似是比较合适的，个人见解，而且我也不知道C对不对...

我一战的教训以及最近的大神培训结论就是，语义为王，如果不仔细看意思直接考语法做题，结果就是悲剧一个
具体的操作我强烈建议你看下babybearmm姐姐的帖子，绝对的语义推理型，也是现在的考试方向啊~
所以我最近一直在拼命背单词分析句意啊啊啊！！！

Honestly I do not know "Oneida" is a word similar to "Americans" (and hence requires plural verb), but I like the idea raised by a student (and approved by Ron) in the above link:

Two Possibilities:
1) For somebody who doesn't know about Oneida would take it as a league/ some association/nation  and hence singular. In that case, 'was' would be correct and 'who' would be incorrect.

2) If I know that  "the Oneida" refers to an entire tribe / group / race and hence plural, then 'was' would be incorrect and 'who' would be correct.

So in both the cases option 'A' would be wrong.
