各位CDS：

几年前为了出国曾多次和CD的大牛们沟通和交流，当年申real estate的人并不多，可以获得的信息也很少。后来，拿到美国几家RE program的offer后选择了JHU。在美期间，也为一些对JHU感兴趣的同学做了项目介绍和推荐。2011年入学的学生中，中国人比例有所提高，之前，我是在这个program的唯一中国学生。更令人高兴的事，学院现在的负责人Mr.Kohlhepp对中国生源越加看重，希望能有更多的优质学生选择JHU的MSRE Program。

Press Release：
The Edward St. John Real Estate Program of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School has announced that the full-time Accelerated Master of Science in Real Estate cohort began the 2011-12 academic year with a record-high number of students.



The Class of 2012 comprises 21 students – two more than in the previous year, and 13 more than in 2009-10, only two years ago.

In the Accelerated MSRE at Carey, students acquire a comprehensive understanding of real estate investment, development, and management, with an emphasis on the necessity of sustainable development. Real estate faculty member Daniel Kohlhepp says this interdisciplinary approach makes the Carey program stand out among real estate offerings at U.S. business schools.
Students in the 12-month program are trained both in theory and application by a faculty composed of Johns Hopkins professors and practitioners drawn from the region’s leading investment, development, law, architectural, engineering, and planning firms. A supportive network of alumni and business professionals is available to students throughout their course of study.


The current cohort in the Accelerated program is noteworthy for its unusually high numbers of women (nine) and international students (12), Kohlhepp says. The students hail from four foreign countries and six states within the U.S.



During their recent week-long orientation program at Carey’s Harbor East campus in Baltimore, the students took part in workshops in financial accounting, statistics, capitalization methodologies, discounted cash flow analysis, and construction techniques. Orientation also included three seminars on professional networking as well as two social events with local Carey real estate alumni:  a dinner at the Red Star restaurant in Fells Point, and a happy-hour mixer at the James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant in Harbor East. In addition, the students took in a baseball game at nearby Oriole Park at Camden Yards.



Students in the Accelerated MSRE will earn 36 credits by participating in 15 eight-week courses, 19 workshops, and an eight-week summer internship.  They will also work on a two-semester practicum project, and several teams of students will compete in national and international real estate competitions.



The Carey Business School’s Edward St. John Real Estate Program also has a part-time MSRE degree program at its Washington, D.C., Center and at Harbor East in Baltimore.  Students can complete the part-time program in two to three years by taking two courses in each eight-week term.  In Carey’s Flexible MBA program, students can plan a seven-course major in real estate.

Real Estate专业的学校不少，但课程，师资以及发展偏重点都不同。申请的时候要仔细阅读学校课程安排，积极询问招生老师（官网上都有email或电话），否则去了发现不合适浪费财力人力。
