首先，从2001 to 2004判断，应该选from结尾的选项. A, C 排除。再从语意判断，应该有时态的不同而引导的转折，因为are still reeling from...在所有选项中都没变。接下来 typical...后面的句子似乎与前面的句子联系不是非常紧密，所以选D。
