29. While the stock market was bouncing back from its 2002 low, U.S. families are still reeling from the recent recession; between 2001 to 2004, typical household savings plummeted nearly 25% and the median household debt rose by a third.
A       was bouncing back from its 2002 low, U.S.families are still reeling from the recent recession; between
B       bounced back from its 2002 low, U.S.families are still reeling from the recent recession, from
C       has bounced back from its 2002 low, U.S.families are still reeling from the recent recession; between
D      has bounced back from its 2002 low, U.S.families are still reeling from the recent recession; from
E       bounced back from its 2002 low, U.S.families are still reeling from the recent recession; from

In the original sentence, "While thestock market was bouncing back" implies that something else was takingplace simultaneously in the past, but the rest of the sentence is in presenttense ("U.S. families are still reeling").  In addition, the phrasing "between 2001to 2004" is incorrect; the correct idiom is either "between X andY" or "from X to Y" (and, in this case, we must use "from Xto Y" since only the first word is underlined).

(A) This choice is incorrect as it repeatsthe original sentence.

(B) "While the stock market bouncedback" implies that the next action took place simultaneously in the past, but the next verb ("are still reeling") is in the present tense.  In addition, this is a run-on sentence; thecomma after the word "recession" should be a semi-colon.
(C) This sentence incorrectly uses"between X to Y."  The correctidiom must be "from X to Y."

(D)CORRECT. This choice remedies the mis-matched tenses bypairing the present perfect "has bounced back," which indicates anaction began in the past and has continued into the present, with the presenttense "are still reeling."  Inaddition, it uses the correct idiom ("from X to Y").

(E) "While the stock market bouncedback" implies that the next action took place simultaneously in the past, but the next verb ("are still reeling") is in the present tense.

题目点评:
本题涉及考点:时态,固定搭配。

分号前句意:虽然股票市场在从2002年最低点反弹回升,但鉴于近期的萧条状况,美国人依然(对股票市场)望而却步。可以判断,bounce back这个动作是从过去开始发生,但现在并未结束,因此使用现在完成时可以很好的表达句意,使用过去进行时、一般过去时都是不对的。

固定搭配,between A B
        From A to B
正确选项就灰常明显了哦。

另外在B选项里,from to结构前使用的是逗号,出现了一个夹心现象,即状语成分出现在两个主谓结构之间,导致修饰对象不清。

思维点评:
1,“2、时态。没有必要用到过去完成时,排除D”——clover033
提醒一下仔细看题哦,这里是现在完成时。

本次精华帖:
11 clover033(注意到B选项逗号而导致的错误)

果断选D
根据句意,股票市场回暖应该是完成时态,留CD。
between and固定搭配,from to 固定搭配,所以选D

句意:尽管股票市场从2002年开始已经回暖,但美国的农民们依然遭受着现在的萧条;从2001到2004,巴拉巴拉巴拉。。。

我去查了OA,是D

时态+idiom

1.因为现在完成时和现在时配对,时态才有意义
2. from Noun to Noun的使用

但是这道题的level定义为700,让我很不解!

D
时态、语意、固定搭配
While作为对比,
句意是 虽然the stock market已经从2002年的新低中恢复过来了,但U.S.家庭还在受着recession的影响;后面进一步解释情况。
;的作用:
The SEMICOLON (;) is normally used to link two parallel statements.
还有固定搭配from...to....

首先,从2001 to 2004判断,应该选from结尾的选项. A, C 排除。再从语意判断,应该有时态的不同而引导的转折,因为are still reeling from...在所有选项中都没变。接下来 typical...后面的句子似乎与前面的句子联系不是非常紧密,所以选D。

D
从语义上来说,while有转折的意味,表示一方已经上升,另一方正在reeling。时态会有所不同,所以排除E,B
固定搭配,from to 排除A,C

选D
between A and B 排除AC
分号排除B
DE依靠时态划分 While即便表示转折也暗含两件事同时发生的意思 所以E一个过去时一个现在完成时就不对了 而D一个现在完成时一个现在进行时都是对当下的描述 所以可以

分号后面的句子中,between to搭配不对,应该是from,所以在BCE中选;
从句意上看,应该是说,股市已经反弹上来了,但是美国家庭还陷在萧条中,所以应该用完成时,选D
