- Effect:
1. Unlike 9/11, the man-made disaster just happened near by the south-west coast of Arizona, and it spread over to Dan Diego. The electricity of the whole area has been shut down, the train stations have been shut down, and even the airports have been affected by this shortage of electricity, many airplanes have been forced to cancel the flights. The official believes that such incidence is caused by some people who are not satisfied with current community.
2. The power stations were shut down to protect their voltage grids. The rescue of the electricity shortage has been executed later.
- Reason:
1. Some people blame such disaster wouldn't happen if the power station separated its power grids. Currently, there are two depts. engaged in investigation of this disaster.
2. The electricity is becoming more and more competent in US. The investors keep lowering the price of electricity and adding more electricity into grids which can mostly tolerated, this cause the grids reach near the most capacity they could hold, and only a little space left for threatening of electricity shortage.
3. Also, the maintaining investment starts to decline in recent years, although it only declined 1%, the investors feel no responsibilities to invest the maintenance as before.
- Smart-grid?
1. It's not the truly smart-grid. first, the residents could check up how much the electricity they use each month, and this is to save money. However, it actually gives some hackers opportunity to provide less voltage of electricity. It's very possible that the electricity of these people's homes are shut down suddenly, or the computers suffered electricity shut. Second, the hackers can adjust to switch up and down of the voltage of residents' homes, computers and other electrical-used products. It will be just like the disaster just happened in San Diego.
2. The electricity provide system has to be regulated, otherwise, more terrorists or hackers will use this to harm the community.
