问一道自己觉得有问题的逻辑题

这道逻辑题是GMAT Verbal 分册cr部分的第七题，题目如下
A researcher discovered that people who have low levels of immune-system activity tend to score much lower on tests of mental health than do people with normal or high immue-system activity. The reasercher concluded from this experiment that the immue system protects against mental illness as well as against physical disease.

The reasearch's conclusion depends on which of the following assumptions.
(B).Mental illness is similat to physical disease in its effects on body system.
(D).Mental illness does not cause people's immune-system activity to decrease.


答案选的D，我可以理解D的正确。但是我觉得B也是正确的，因为这个题目前面完全没有提到physical disease，仅仅只是说mental disease，但是在结论的时候突然将physical disease加上了，我觉得如果不解释这两个disease之间的关系的话，会说不通，所以我觉得B是正确的。


NN们怎么看这道题呢？

我知道我哪里的理解错了，是我对as well as 这个词组的理解错误照成了我整个题目的错误，as well as 的意思应该是“(除…之外)也”，而不是“和什么什么一样”的意思，看来我还得去背下词组呀，悲剧哟

哎哟。。默默留个抓。。救星啊啊啊啊~~这道题看的我差点崩溃。。想了很久。。单词都认识。。就是没明白怎么选出D的。。原来是个as well as。。。顿悟！
