(c) On-campus medical and dental services
Medical Service Hospitalization is not covered by the University. Students are advised to arrange their own medical insurance for additional coverage. The on-campus Medical Clinic provides free out-patient services to all full-time students. Prior appointments are not required. Students may just walk in to register when they need the service. Remember to bring along your student ID card.
A session per week for each of the specialist services in Allergy, Dermatology, ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat), Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Ophthalmology, Respiratory Medicine and Surgery is available at the Health Center at a charge of HK$160 per visit.
On-campus Dental Service The on-campus Student Dental Clinic provides primary dental services including oral examination, intra-oral x-rays, scaling, polishing, root canal treatment, extraction of teeth, minor oral surgery, dressing and medication, etc.
Dental services are charged according to time units used in delivering the services which is at HK$70 per time unit of 20 minutes. The charge for oral examination only is HK$10.
Prior appointments are required and should be made in person at the Student Dental Clinic. When making an appointment, a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit (HK$10 for oral examination and $70 for other treatments) is required.

Public Hospital Admissions Persons holding a Hong Kong Identity Card who are admitted into public hospitals are charged a nominal rate. The present rate is $68 per day in a general ward & $100 for accident & emergency treatment. Persons NOT holding a Hong Kong Identity Card have to pay the non-entitled persons' rate, presently at $3,130 per day & $570 for accident & emergency treatment. (The rates are subject to change.)
Insurance Coverage for Students The University has a group personal accident insurance policy for all students against death and permanent disablement arising from accidents while participating in academic or extra-curricular activities organized, or arranged by the University and/or student organizations. The maximum coverage for each student is HK$100,000. Accidental medical coverage in Hong Kong of up to HK$5,000 per student, subject to an excess of HK$100 per claim, is also available.
If you require additional coverage, you may pay for a supplementary plan. The University has arranged with an insurance company to provide optional accident insurance plans at privileged rates. Details of the plans and application forms are available from the Student Affairs Office in Room 5016.
All full-time students are entitled to use the primary health care service available in the on-campus Health Center. (See sections on "On-campus medical and dental services".) No separate medical insurance is effected.
Those who are in need of additional coverage may make further insurance arrangements themselves.
