The directors thought that 1) the paint can adjust; 2) the paint is the most sensitive to humidity; 3) if the most sensitive component can adjust, the whole painting is safe; and 4) let's relax the standard!

What the director missed is that something else other than the paint is very sensitive to humidity change. Thus the standard should not be relaxed.

D is the correct answer.
