Og 52题C选项我的理解：
(C) Josephine Baker made Paris her home long before to be an expatriate was fashionable,
通过题干可以知道这个选项想说明两个问题（就是正确选项D想说明的）：1、Josephine Baker made Paris her home 2、Paris was fashionable to be an expatriate. 但是C选项里把两个句子合在一起并不容易理解，因为Paris在句子里做了两个成分。
其次，划线部分应该是与and后面部分平行的，但是明显C不平行。
Og的解释是讲C选项后面部分其实是个倒装，正确的语序应该是：long before Paris was fashionable to be an expatriate，这个倒装反而使句子不容易理解了。
补充一下，主句和从句合在一起时，要注意主句后的句子是否是一个真正的句子。
有点像我今天看到得Manhattan里的例子：Citizens of many countries are expressing concern about the environmental damage caused by the widespread release of greenhouse gases may be impossible to reverse.
在这个句子里，主句是Citizens of many countries are expressing concern about the environmental damage caused by the widespread release of greenhouse gases.主句并没有问题，问题在于接下来的句子may be impossible to reverse幷没有主语。Gmat的出题人想让你以为environmental damage是这个句子的主语，但实际上environmental damage不能一次做两个成分：既是宾语（concern about）又是主语（may be）。
