But, in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead who struggled here have consecrated it(指代谁) far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it(指代谁) can never forget what they(指代谁) did here. It(指代谁) is for us the living rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It(指代谁) is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us – that(修饰谁) from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that (修饰谁) we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that(修饰谁)this nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom, and that(修饰谁)government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.

别把外语当‘外’语,外语和母语其实是一样的。只要你想学好,就一定能学好。

Get firmly in mind the definite conviction that YOU CAN DO ANYTHING RIGHT THAT YOU MAY WISH TO DO. Then set your goal and let everything you do, all your work, all your study, and all your associations, be a step towards that goal. To quote Berton Braley* again—

“If you want a thing bad enough

To go out and fight for it,

Work day and night for it,

Give up your time and your peace and your sleep for it,

If only desire of it

Makes you quite mad enough

Never to tire of it,

Makes you hold all other things tawdry and cheap for it,

If life seems all empty and useless without it

And all that you scheme and you dream is about it,

If gladly you’ll sweat for it,

Fret for it, plan for it,

Lose all your terror of God or man for it,

If you’ll simply go after that thing that you want,

With all your capacity, strength and sagacity,

Faith, hope and confidence, stern pertinacity,

If neither cold poverty, famished and gaunt,

Nor sickness nor pain of body or brain

Can turn you away from the thing that you want,

If dogged and grim you besiege and beset it,

You’ll get it!”
