我觉得,首先,grow as big as 是一种正确的表达,但是往往后面接的是具体的比较对象.

前后比较的应该是grow起来的速度,或者grow到的最终程度.

如果google一下这个表达的话,往往可以看到the frog would grow as big as an ox 这类表达.

as... as...结构,主要强调是一种比较,所以最好接具体的比较对象.

前面有人解释说,as long as 30 feet是正确的,我觉得这是一个似是而非的解释.

仔细比较一下,30 feet和30 feet long,后者显然是一个形容词性质的结构,接到as as结构是欠妥的.似乎改成前者好一点.

看og就会发现,as as或者more than结构后面一般都是具体的比较对象,有时还有动词跟着.形容词肯定是不对的.

但是,即使D的选项是as long as 30 feet的话,还是A最优.

这里考察的错误是乱用as as这个含有比较意味的词去表达最终程度.

前面有人解释grow后面不能接形容词了,因为接在了can后面,的确是如此.

但是这里as as结构的功能不是一个形容词性的功能,所以这一点并不有效.所以这个解释是不成立的.

OG上的选项不是和GWD上的不一样的么。OG12 的66题 的D 是includes 当然就明显错了。至于as big as OG说是idiomatically incorrect expression of the comparison = =

as...as前后对象要对称啊..~~~whale as...as 30 feet~一个是whale一个是长度是不是没有可比性呢?..
