1.首先，B一定错。这点勿庸置疑！因为这句话前半句的意思当然是“清除森林”这个事/行为，既留下了可供耕种的空地又提供了做家具和建房屋的材料（被砍伐的木材。house大都是木房子啊。）而which只可以指代farmland，认为farmland可以作为后面动作的主语的同学我表示不能理解。

2.我认为那个管卫东附注说的有点道理。因为D虽说好像没什么大错，但总觉得少了not only显得太不工整，不舒服。而某些人用“转折”来作为逻辑上选D的理由我觉得过虑了。我以为，not only ... but also 仅仅是表示“强调”同时具有两方面，而这两方面的关系，既可以是“递进”也可以是“转折”。好比说某人既是个伟人也是个王八蛋，我觉得没什么逻辑问题。

我选D. 我认为WITH在这里表示递近的原因, 是独立主格做状语. 说明由于成本的降低和手机的普及, 人们现在用手机(而不是坐机, 隐含的意思)打长途了

如果是表示转折, 如STONEREN的翻译:

句子表达的是：虽然无线电话服务费在过去的一年中下降，而且同时，手机变得越来越普遍，但是还是有很多人仅仅在外地、晚上或周末才使用手机，虽然手机的服务公司提供了时间无限制的服务。

这几个副词的翻译在原句中并没有体现. 如果有转折的意思的话, 句子应该至少是:

看来看去，还是D象答案。

一开始认为farmland 提供房子和家具，就排除了D。现在想想，clearing of forests提供家具更合理。同时整句表达转折关系。
