没有人在讨论平行吗? B的not only和but also后的带的成份我怎么看明显就是不平行呢?一个是句子一个是动词啊.如果要用not only but also的话,不是应该变成:The systematic clearing of forests in...not only created...but also caused,动词对动词才平行啊.

逻辑意思D正确 不是改变愿意 而是因为正确答案首先逻辑意思要正确

对clearing发表一点看法。听力里考过（我自己也听过一些）关于殖民者开垦森林种田（farming）的文章，里面的clearing和farming都不是我们理解的动名词，而是普通的名词，指开垦森林和种田这回事。所以这里gave的主语一定是clearing，而且逻辑上很好理解。

个人认为B中not only...but also后面的主语不能省略。因为这个结构要求严格平行，比如not only跟在介宾结构的介词前，那么but also后面也必须要求出现对应的介词。
