（求助）一个句子翻译&读长难句困惑

More selective than most chemical pesticides in that they ordinarily destroy only unwanted species, biocontrol. agents (such as insects, fungi, and viruses) eat, infect, or parasitize targeted plant or animal pests.

GWD 中一个阅读的首句，不太明白啊，求牛牛翻译一下。

PS：我现在阅读感觉最大的问题就是长难句阅读，一遍不回读的话，根本读不透，有的甚至理解完全跑偏了，该怎么练呢？短时间有没有解决的好方法呀~~？

Biocontrol agents destroy targeted plant or animal pests better than most chemical pesticides since the former is more selective, i.e., they normally ONLY kill the targests (without harming other species).

大意是：BA比多数化学杀虫剂更有选择性在于化学杀虫剂只杀害有害物种，而BA吃、感染或寄生目标植物或动物害虫。

我理解的对么？
