Hey there—so glad that you asked this question. First of all, be VERY careful—no admissions committee wants to hear about a career change. The idea that you want to do something that you don’t have lots of background in will make any adcom a bit nervous. So honestly, if you were our client, I would tell you to NOT EVEN TALK ABOUT FINANCE in your app. Instead, talk about SCM! There are so few applicants in this area—even fewer who are WELL VERSED in the area.Use that to your advantage! Don’t worry about finance. Once you get to school, you can do whateeeever you want. But don’t even worry about tying those dots together. If you focus on SCM, and present yourself as a great SCM candidate, you will get into bschool.
